I have often spent holidays with Wendy & jimmy in Kirkmichael and at the Log Cabin Hotel with my husband and three children, and sometimes with friends as well.
One night (I think it was in 2001) when I was staying with friends from The Hague, we were driving back from a day out in Aberdeen, when we found a baby deer lying on the road. It was slighty wounded and dazed, so we didn’t like to leave it there. We took it in a blanket back to the hotel. Wendy was very upset, as we would have been accused of poaching if the police had stopped us. The baby deer recovered in the bathroom of our hotel room, and we put it outside at about 5 a.m. where it found its way (hopefully) back to its mother! The other residents didn’t seem to be disturbed at all!
